Job description
Join our family-driven hotel at Van der Valk Brussels Airport, where teamwork, quality and a warm atmosphere come together. We are looking for a motivated Sous Chef to strengthen our kitchen team.
Support the Head Chef in the daily management of the kitchen and lead the kitchen team
Coordinate mise-en-place, service and post-service operations
Contribute to menu creation and ensure accurate cost control
Plan and organize kitchen activities to ensure smooth service
Guarantee the quality, taste and presentation of all dishes
Train, coach and motivate kitchen staff
Manage ordering, stock control and deliveries in collaboration with Cost Control
Ensure compliance with HACCP, hygiene and safety standards
Maintain efficient communication with the restaurant and other departments
Job requirements
Proven experience as Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready for the next step
Strong leadership and coaching skills
Well-organized with excellent planning abilities
Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
Hands-on, stress-resistant and solution-oriented mindset
Strong team player with clear communication skills
Flexible availability (morning, evenings and weekends)
Fluent in English; French is a strong plus
