Experienced culinary professional wanted! Join Van der Valk Hotel Brussels Airport as a Senior Chef de Partie and play a key role in our dynamic kitchen team. Grow, lead and make an impact!

Job description

Are you an experienced chef who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment? Do you enjoy supporting the wider kitchen operation rather than being confined to a single section? Then we would love to hear from you.

To strengthen our culinary team, we are looking for a Senior Chef de Partie who will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our kitchen. Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous-Chef, you will help ensure smooth service, maintain high culinary standards, and support the development of the kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in accordance with established standards.

  • Support various kitchen sections depending on operational needs.

  • Ensure efficient mise-en-place and service preparation.

  • Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion control.

  • Assist in coordinating daily kitchen operations.

  • Support and guide junior kitchen team members when required.

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and hygiene regulations.

  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment.

  • Assist during banqueting events, restaurant service, breakfast service, and other culinary operations.

Job requirements

  • Several years of experience in a professional kitchen environment.

  • Experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role.

  • A flexible and hands-on approach to kitchen operations.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform under pressure.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take responsibility.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Commitment to quality, consistency, and attention to detail.

  • Experience in a hotel environment is an advantage.

  • Flexible and adaptable, with availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is considered an asset.
